Strengths: Plays all Nintendo's current generation 1st party titles, four controller ports, compact size, minimal load times, budget price
Weakness: Lack of third party software support, nearly nonexistant online support, "kiddie" image, newer models lack progressive scan, "limited edition" in name only
Nintendo gave it the old college try during the 128-bit hardware generation. Releasing a year after the PS2, the Gamecube featured more advanced graphics and processing capabilities and all of Nintendo's exclusive first party games, but the system had a few problems as well. Given the PS2's one year headstart and huge installed user base, the Gamecube never really had a chance at winning the...
Strengths: Affordable, compact, stylish design, comfortable controller, and has excellent exclusive games.
Weakness: Smaller game library than other current-generation systems
I love my gamecube for the simple reason that the vast majority of the games made for it are easy to pick up and very enjoyable. While the system is obviously slanted towards younger players, those who decry the lack of mature titles simply aren't looking hard enough. The Gamecube exclusive Eternal Darkness, Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil 4 are reasons enough to own the console. Even more,...
Strengths: small and portable
Weakness: geared for younger kids
The Nintendo GameCube is small and portable to play in the Car or elsewhere. It doesn´t have the cool jukebox features of the XBox. It´s not meant for college students who would appreciate all of the functionality that the XBox and PlayStation 2 offers. It is good foryounger kids, and that´s where this system shines. It´s easy to use, it´s small and portable. Snap on a small screen, and the...
Strengths: Cheap. Great games. Very durable.
Weakness: Lack of online games.
The GCN platinum is an excellent choice for those looking for a great and inexpensive entry into gaming. There is a good selection of games from many genres, and there are many great games exclusive to the gamecube. The Platinum finish of the console is eye-catching as well. Nintendo durability is another great quality of the gamecube, they are built to last and take all kinds of punishment. The...
Strengths: Easy to set up; Exclusive games
Weakness: Not as many games to chose from; Can't play CDs or DVDs
The GameCube came well packaged and was easy to set up (my 7 year old did it). The controls and features are pretty typical of other gaming systems. The image is nice and clear on the TV. The wired control includes "rumble" which is vibration that coincides with the game play. The PS2 (which we also have) or X-Box seem to have a lot more games to chose from, but the GameCube had some exclusive...
Strengths: Many excellent games that are exclusive to the Gamecube. Mario, Sonic, Zelda, all the classic characters are still there. The quality of Nintendo is present.
Weakness: The Gamecube cannot play CDs or DVDs. But then again, you payed for a video game system. Use the 50 dollars you saved to buy a cheap DVD player.
I bought this just because of the exclusive games. I am now beginning to like it just as much as my PS2. The overall game selection might not be as great, but it is still a great system.
Strengths: Good graphics, Good variety of games
Weakness: Expensive accesories, All games that are available are for children- ie not to many good fighting games.
When i purchased the gamecube for my younger brother i had hopes of eventually buying games for myself. Upon purchasing the gamecube i purchased mariokart with it, which by the way is loads of fun. I also later on purchased monky balls 1 and 2 which are very good fun brain games. Overall i think the system is great. The graphics are simply stunning and its ease of setup makes it easy for a...
Strengths: Outta Boxes a more powerful system compare to the Sony Playstation 2! Great 1st party Games! A sell of a Price for around $99.
Weakness: Not Much Support from 3rd party game developer like xbox or PS2, Don't Come with Memory card, not many support online games.
Nintendo Gamecube is Nintendo 1st entry to the Disc type format hardware. The system look the coolest & smallest IMO when compare to Playstation 2 & Microsoft XBOX. It is a nice shiny silver paint on console & controller. It comes with standard A/C cords, AC plugs & I got Mario Kart bundle along with the system. Nice!!! PROS: Graphic hardware is pretty strong, it's in between Playstation 2 &...
Strengths: Good for families
Weakness: Not so good if you want some of the more violent titles.
This is a relly good system for families since most all of the games are geared toward younger kids. On the opposite side, some of the newest, coolest games (and most vioulent) are not even available on Game Cube. A great value in the Holiday Bundle w/ extra controller + Mario Kart Double Dash.

GameCube Gaming Console
Strengths: Many high-quality games, great graphics performance, intuitive and comfortable controller, very quick loading times, quiet, compact design, inexpensive. Classic Nintendo quality.
Weakness: Game library lacking in certain genres, no real online functionality, not very many "mature" titles, slightly reduced third-party support compared to the PS2, no DVD support.
For anyone looking for a cheap yet powerful console, the GameCube is a great choice. With dozens of quality games ranging from Mario and Zelda to Metroid and Resident Evil, the GameCube is sure to have something to appeal to just about anyone. Many of the best games are now available for $20, and the console costs only $99, making it easily the best bargain console. Nintendo decided to focus on...
