Weakness: Very poor photos, Blotchy Color in Anything Other Than Bright Daylight Shots
Had this camera a week but the pictures were so bad I took it back knowing I would be hit with a 15% restocking fee. Bright daylight photos come out looking sharp and colorful, however, every other king of lighting produces extremely noisy blotchy photos. When examining the photos it seems as if Sony sacrificed quality and detail for color. Even in dark situations the photos are very colorful but...
The Sony Cybershot W170 is a pleasant camera to work with. It's a pity that the image quality did not appear clearly from a technical point of view in a number of situations. This is not a camera for the evening or in difficult light circumstances; it is a good-weather model. Great Camera!
Strengths: very good optics, great pictures, wide angle, anti-shake mode, light sensitive, smile shutter
Weakness: a little heavy (compared to the more slim Casio models), battery lid is plastic (how long will it take to break?!)
This camera gives you great pictures and movies. It takes very good pictures during evenings with low light. The anti-shake mode kicks in and the pictures are very natural and sharp. The quality of these pictures is amazing! They are way better than the pictures I get with my Casio Exilim 600. The zoom works quite fast in the W170 and I am really happy with the camera. As the cable is somewhat...
